Covers all aspects of the teaching profession, including selection of readings, designing courses, preparation and delivery of class lectures, leading class discussions, preparing and grading exams, and professional expectations during and after graduate school. HIST 80090 Supervised Teaching at the College Level. All teaching assistants who are assigned to teach undergraduate courses must enroll for this course. HIST 80100 Graduate Seminar in Ancient History. As a seminar, this course emphasizes reading, research, writing, and discussion. An occasional lecture may be scheduled. Topics of study will vary from semester to semester. Prerequisites: admission to the graduate program and permission of the instructor. HIST 80200 Graduate Seminar in Women's History. This seminar will investigate women's experiences in and contributions to the history of the western world, Europe and the United States. Topics may include, but are not limited to: family and reproduction, work, politics, gender issues, slavery, and the frontier. HIST 80300 Seminar in Early Modern European History.
